City gardens - or what is urban farming?

I keep this book in my hands when I want to be inspired by other urban farming projects around the world. What? Urban farming? The term describes gardening in the city and a young movement that inspires city dwellers to experience a new closeness to nature and our food.

Whether vegetable gardens high above the roofs or community gardens on urban wastelands: City Gardens introduces the new gardens and the people who look after them. The book makes you want to get your hands dirty - whether on your own balcony, in the community garden or when founding a green start-up. For me it shows the perfect mix of seeds and concrete... and thus the often still unexpected breeding ground for a greener, healthier and more sustainable life in the city.
